G. Orwell's 1984 is brilliant, very interesting book. Meaning of language and fear are very important in this book. People just isolated from privacy, love, women, freedom of speech, happyness, and they have a fear of government, of society, of punishment, of Big Brother. They live in grey life with a strict rules and laws.
Language is a power. Imagine If society could isolate us from different words such as Freedom, Love, Feelings, Respect etc. Society could control people.
Language: expressing emotions, control, the pen is mighier than a sword. Words/Language = Power.
"Power to control thought comes from the removed of the capacity for thought"

Very well written Dias. I think this is one of the most important books ever written in the English Language. That "lift" clip today made me think of the "proles", proletariat in 1984. They are what is left of humanity in 1984. It was very human watching that lift clip. Keep this up. I would like your thoughts on this weeks TOk? Gavin
